Ep 94: Otherworldly Hiking Encounter (Sedona, Arizona)

I chat to Tim about a strange interaction which took place during a hike and tapped deeply into his psyche.

This marked both a shift in Tim’s life direction and a return to his underlying sense of ‘true’ self and an openness in life which had slipped away during adulthood. It continues to hold meaning in his current relationships.

We discuss how our home environment as a child shapes how we interact with the Otherworld and how, as an adult we can lose our sense of ‘being’. I hope you enjoy this discussion.

Ep 93: Fairies of Hedges and Homes (Sheffield, England)

This is the story of a woman from Sheffield in the North of England, who experienced a fairy flying out from a hedge near her home, in an area which had already felt particularly special to her. She later encountered an imp while staying in a holiday cottage with her family.

With a history of mediumship that seems to have been passed down her ancestral lineage through her great grandmothers (listen to the full extended version on Patreon for a discussion on her mediumship experiences) , Corinne shares how her abilities showed up initially and how she was ultimately able to use visualisation to release a fairy being who appeared to be unwittingly ‘stuck’ in this material plane.

This episode was recorded in July 2024.

Ep 92: David Halpin: Irish Folklore – Children, Fairies and Cillíns

Writer, David Halpin is a specialist in Irish folklore, fairylore and mythology in general and ideas around consciousness.

David looks at the Irish stories and fairy folklore in a refreshing way, through the lens of writers such as Jacques Vallée and John Keel. His group, Circle Stories on Facebook is an excellent resource and there is a shortened version of Circle Stories on Instagram.

We discuss some of the stories on Duchas.ie Schools Collection (see link below) which relate to children. Some of these involve children being taken to fairyland NB. these are not changeling stories which are a separate type of fairy lore. We also talk about unconsecrated burial grounds called ‘cillíns’.

Ep 90: Druid Adrian Rooke and Gwyn ap Nudd, King of the Fairies

Adrian is a well-known and much-loved Druid of The Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids. He is a dear friend. I often join him at Stanton Drew to provide the the equinox and solstice public ceremonies. Everyone is welcome. The link to the Facebook page for dates etc is below.

Some years ago, he told me about his experience with Gwyn ap Nudd. I know Ade well and there’s very little that phases him but this encounter had a profound effect on him, as he describes here.

Pat Noone is a well known Irish farmer of Green Hills Farm in Kilconnell, Galway. He has led the way in teaching fellow farmers and people around the world about how to be a good guardian of the land, living in harmony with nature and the fairy realm.

Pat has fairy forts, and fairy trees in his fields and folk are able to book overnight stays. Some folks have had interesting experiences there!

I chat to Pat about his family’s understanding of ‘the Lads from the Other Side’ and the important messages he has for us as a guardian of the land and a land healer.

Jeremy Harte is an independent folklore researcher and author. He’s written a number of books on the subject including Explore Fairy Traditions which won the 2005 Katharine Briggs Award and Cloven Country: The Devil and the English Landscape

His new book Fairy Encounters in Medieval England: Landscape, Folklore and the Supernatural is a really great read. It’s entertaining and wittily written. Supernatural encounters from primary source material are tied together through the chapters and also include stories related to documented miracles. I first heard about Jessica’s encounter with a tall dark man on Glastonbury Tor on Darragh Mason’s Spirit Box Podcast. Since then, she feels her sense of this being has developed further. This discussion is a chance to chat about what their meeting now means to her.

I was amazed to hear an updated detail about The Dark Man’s request for “a cup of tea” and “a cigarette” that he made to Jessica and her friend, as they stood, terrified on the hill of the Tor at 4.30am.

Ep 85: “They Want To Talk To Us” South Wales Encounter

Our guest was only eleven years old when he wandered away from his holiday caravan site and found himself in the woods, communicating with two white beings.

They guided him through ‘rooms’ which seemed to have glass walls facing into the forest and showed him some kind of technical representation of how they were aiding us here on Earth. He also experienced lost time during the event.

Until recently he had never been able to speak about his experience. When he heard others talking on the show, he decided to contact me.

Every single encounter shared in the Project offers us greater understanding of this Universe. As you will see, this is no exception.

Ep 84 Danu Forest and Gwyn ap Nudd, King of the Fairies

Danu is an author, teacher and traditional Celtic wise woman, who was called to Glastonbury many years ago to work with Gwyn, who is said to dwell in Glastonbury Tor and the Black Mountains of Wales. Danu offers Celtic Fairy Tradition Courses and Natural Magic Courses online.

Having researched a series of recently reported encounters here at The Modern Fairy Sightings Project with the figure known as Gwyn ap Nudd, King of the Fairies, Lord of Annwn (the Welsh Otherworld) I chat to Danu Forest, author of, Gwyn ap Nudd: Wild God of Faerie, Guardian of Annwfn about her understanding of him, how she came to be a dedicated priestess of Gwyn and what he offers to us, in encountering him.

We also discuss the secrets held within the hollow hills of Glastonbury Tor!
