This episode, full of childhood encounters, holds a particularly enchanting quality. As a sick child lies in bed, he is visited by pixies. On another occasion, at the end of the Second World War, a terrifying goblin appears at the end of his bed. A member of the same family later experiences a bedtime parade of magical wonders. Her resulting dream journeys to a ‘Burgundy Kingdom’ makes her wish dearly that she could return.
Some of those experiences are beautiful and wondrous while others are quite unsettling. A further reminder that this podcast is not suitable for children or for those who are sensitive to creepy content.

While listening to the experience of the tiny peacocks and carousel, I recalled my mother telling me about experiences she had had when she was about 5-7yrs old, while staying with her grandmother in Meols near Liverpool. She would lay in bed and watch as golden balls, figures, stars would float down from the ceiling, including tiny carousels. It’s interesting that this lady also saw a carousel in her experience. I am loving your podcast and have shared this episode, and several others with my mother. My grandparents moved with my mother and her sisters to Australia in 1960 or so and we still live in Australia. Thank you
