Death and Music with Folklorist, Gideon Thomas

Gideon is author of a book on the same subject and a member of the Folklore Society. His talk will examine ghosts and the undead in a selection of traditional songs found in the oral traditions of England, Scotland, United States and Canada. We’ll explore:

– different types of ghosts and revenants
– sentient creatures who desire to complete some sort of goal
– the behaviour of these undead figures in various songs.
